There are a variety of reasons why folks join yacht clubs. Many participate in the clubs primary purpose, sailing. From novices to racers, we want to be able to meet the needs of the membership in this central mission of the club.  Participation in our educational sailing programs has been good but we want and need to get the membership more involved in this core mission.

Others join the club to meet and make friends and to have a place to socialize.  still other join for the beach, the view and the pool.  Lest, I not forget, the bar provides yet another motivation for being part of the Yacht Club experience.  As a club, we should embrace these motivations and strive to maximize everyone's enjoyment of the experience.

Last year, the Club made an honest effort with food service but clearly missed the mark, resulting in significant losses.  The Club went through a number of iterations searching for the right prices and product to meet costs and provide good service at reasonable prices.  Despite these efforts, the net result did not allow us to continue with the service.  The search continues, hopefully with your help we can identify your wants and get it right this year.  Should you want this, it will require your commitment to regularly dine at the club.

We are located on beach front property. We have a swimming pool and sun deck for our members, family, and guests. The Pergola provides shade and a place to grill and have a picnic. The pier provides a place to fish and to moor your vessel while having a drink, swimming, showering, or just relaxing on any one of the decks. This is really a good "back yard" for you, your family and friends to relax and have fun.

By my estimate, we have less than 20% active member participation at the club, and we can do better. The purpose of this questionnaire is to solicit your help in making OSYC - your beach front "back yard".
