We believe that joining a friendly, private, family oriented club that is also one of the most afforable on the Gulf coast, should be an easy, pleasant experience.

ACTIVITIES:
Fine dining, grill your own night, members pot luck dinner's, parties for holidays/football etc and or special events, cooking classes, music and dancing, mardi gras and, the annual Commodores Ball. On the sailing front, we have a fleet of 15 club boats available for qualified member use throughout the year. We offer both youth and adult sailing classes to help get you out on the water. We also host multiple regattas throughout the year for the enjoyment of the sailor and spectator alike. In addition, we are involved in competitive racing of our boats. In the summer months, we provide weekly club races, inter-club sail races, major regional and national regattas. For 2011, Ocean Springs Yacht Club is proud to Host the Hobie Cat North American Championship (June 10-17). BENEFITS:
With your membership you are granted privileges at all other GYA clubs (Gulf Yachting Association) along with most others across the nation. Locally you have five (5) other Yacht Clubs to visit should you choose. A listing of them is available for you to review during your tour. Pool usage is included in your membership, discounted youth and adult sailing programs, exclusive beach and private dock privilges, use of club picnic area under building, club dining area and kitchen can be available for small private member parties, a sail yard is available for boat storage. There are grilling provisions near the pool area. There is also private parking for members using the club, walking the bridge or enjoying the new Front Beach path. The view of the Gulf and our beautiful sunsets from our veranda should not be missed.
There are a variety of membership catagories available to select from to best suit your individual situation. We have easy payment plans for the initiation fee. This allows for a small partial down payment of the initiation fee, and paying the balance over the next five (5) months along with your monthly dues. MEMBERSHIP APPROVAL:
The Board of Directors review and approve all new members. Our committee is very responsive and meets monthly to review applications for membership. You will be advised immediately upon acceptance and will then be entitled to full member priviledges.

How much does membership cost?
OSYC has an initiation fee of $1,000, which may be paid in installments with $320 down. The monthly dues are $70. These are among the lowest fees on the coast. Each membership covers an individual or a family (parents and non-adult children). We also offer discount memberships to single persons under age 26 military personnel and seasonal youth memberships $100).
Do I need to own a boat or be a sailor to be a member of OSYC?
Membership in OSYC is open to all. You do not need to own a boat or know how to sail. All that is required is a love of boating. The club has much to offer sailors and non-sailors alike.
OSYC is a private club. Use of the facilities is restricted to members and their guests. Visitors are welcome to come by any time to learn more about the club and see what it has to offer.
What sailing activities does OSYC offer?
OSYC is involved in all types of sailing activities. We hold fun races on many weekends, and host multiple interclub, regional and national regattas each year. In 2010, the Club will be hosting the Hobie Nationals (14,Wave, 17 and 18).The club owns several boats for members to use. Also, OSYC has learn-to-sail programs for adults and children.
Can I keep my boat at the club?
We have space on our beach for small dinghies and hobie cats for a small registration fee. The club does not have boat slips for keel boats and power boats, but member boaters may use the pier for daytime visits to the club.
Does OSYC have a bar or a restaurant?
Yes. The club has a fully staffed bar offering drinks at very reasonable prices. We schedule family dinners on several nights through the month. We also bring in local chef's from your favorite restauraunts for special meals.
What is the new clubhouse like?
The new clubhouse opened February 2009. The pool opened in 2008. The new clubhouse is a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility with sweeping views of the the bay and the gulf and plenty of amenities. It is an ideal spot for weddings, class reunions and event dinners. Members receive a substantial discount to hold a large event at the club. Click "About the Club" link for more details.
Yes. Our dining room, downstairs and pergola are all for rent for member and non-member events. Members receive a substantial discount. The club is well suited for beautiful weddings, receptions, class reunions and other social events. Even with these events, the club's bar area is always open to the membership.
