Ocean Springs Yacht Club is committed to introducing people of all ages to the sport of sailing, and helping experienced sailors advance their skills.
Our club has a developing fleet of Sunfish, Catamarans and Flying Scots available for qualified member's use. To become qualified, you must first show the ability to rig, sail, right and de-rig the boat in which you wish to qualify on. During the summer months, our instructors, fleet captain, sail director or Vice Commodore are available to qualify you on club boats. Once qualified, you will receive a sticker to put on your membership card attesting to you skills.
Use of club boats requires the member to execute a Float Plan and to be responsible for any damage that they cause. Float plans may be obtained from the bartender or our bosun on weekends.

At Ocean Springs Yacht Club we are committed to the development of the next generation of sailors and racers. Our experienced team will teach your child how to safely operate and sail a boat. The curriculum follows the US Sailing Association, small boat basic sailing program. The course is almost completely hands-on sailing with brief tutorials given by a Certified US Sailing Instructor. The course includes learning the parts of the sailboat, points of sail, basic knots, water safety, and boat rigging & de-rigging. Upon successful completion of the course material and practical testing, the student will receive a certificate from the US Sailing Association.
In 2009 we ran four Summer sessions and taught over 125 new sailors the joy of the water. For the year 2010 we will have three beginning and beginning Intermediate programs and one beginning racing program.
